The Period of Disunion was followed by reunification by rulers of the Sui, Tang, and Song dynasties.
1. What was the Period of Disunion? How did Chinese culture change during the Period of Disunion?
The Period of Disunion was the time after the Han dynasty collapsed. Some peaceful events happened during the Period of Disunion when war has going on. That’s where the people influenced how the people lived in China. Both northern and southern cultures mixed.
2. When was China reunified? When was China not unified?
China reunified after centuries of political confusion and the cultural change. It remained unified under a series of powerful dynasties. China was not unified during the Period of Disunion and the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms.
3. What was Buddhism and how did it influence (change) Chinese culture?
The citizens of China turned to Buddhism during the Period of Disunion. The wealthy gave lands to build Buddhist temples. It has influenced the Chinese with its art, literature, and architecture.

The Tang and Song dynasties were periods of economic, cultural, and technological accomplishments.
1. Explain what advances in agriculture and farming led to increased trade and population growth during the Song dynasty.
The leftover of the agricultural farming were used to help pay taxes to the government. China grew some agriculture that only grows in China. So some countries trade with them to get cotton. They would also trade valueable products. With this kind of trade, it has helped the Chinese’s economy become stronger.

1. What is Confucianism and what are the main teachings of Confucian philosophy?
Confucius taught on ethics, proper behavior for individuals and governments. The teaching says that lives should run by the two basic principles. Concerning for others and appropriate behaviors.

Neo-Confucianism emphasized spiritual matters that incorporated Buddhist and Taoist concepts of life. Confucianism just relied on just respecting each other. Neo-Confucianism became more influential on some of the dynasties.

The Chinese were ruled by foreigners during the Yuan dynasty, but they threw off Mongol rule and prospered during the Ming dynasty.
1. How did the Mongols come to rule China during the Yuan dynasty?
The Mongols changed how the Chinese lived their life. They changed how they would talk, speak, and their culture. They placed heavy taxes on the Chinese. They forced workers to build the Grand Canal. The emperor sent soldiers around the dynasty to keep the peace.
2. How did the Yuan dynasty come to an end?
The Mongolians tried to take over Japan. But with their loss and the weak economy from their construction, the dynasty was open for an attack. A group of Chinese rebelled against the Mongolians. The Chinese now got their country back.
THIS SECTION REMIDED ME ABOUT THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR WHERE THE COLONIES FOUGHT A WAR AGINST THE BRITISH BECAUSE OF THEIR HARSH RULES.

A sailor named, Zheng He, introduced some of the new stuff in China to each of the country he went to. This gave a positive influence to the other countries and a positive view to China.
